| A conservative community leader, United States Congressman Pete Sessions has combined hard work, innovative thinking, free-market solutions and common sense principles and values to build a successful family, business and congressional career. First elected in 1996, Congressman Sessions was re-elected in 1998, and 2000 by the people of Dallas and the Fifth Congressional District to represent them in the United States House of Representatives in Washington, DC. In the 2002 elections, Congressman Sessions was re-elected to a fourth term in the House in the newly created Thirty-Second Congressional District. As a member of the majority party in Congress, and a friend of President Bush and Vice President Cheney, Congressman Sessions has become a national leader on issues of great importance to the people of Texas. |

| Beaumont, Texas native Nick Lampson was elected to represent the 9th Congressional District in 1996. The four-term Member of Congress serves on the Transportation and Infrastructure Committee, where he fights for federal highway construction and repair funds, and the improvement of Houston and Southeast Texas airport facilities. As a member of the Science Committee, Lampson is a strong advocate for the Johnson Space Center and the entire NASA manned space program. Prior to his tenure in Congress, Lampson, who earned his Bachelors Degree in Biology and Masters Degree in Education from Lamar University, served as the Jefferson County property tax assessor for nearly 20 years after he developed and taught a real estate management course at his alma mater. |

| Ambassador W. Robert Pearson, a Career Member of the Senior Foreign Service, Class of Minister-Counselor, has a broad background in European and security issues as well as wide management experience overseas and in Washington. The Senate confirmed Ambassador Pearson as Ambassador to Turkey on July 9, 2000, and he was sworn in on July 31, 2000. He officially assumed his position in Ankara on September 21, 2000. Ambassador Pearson was Deputy Chief of Mission of the U.S. Embassy to France from July 1997 to July 2000. He served twice at NATO, from 1993 to 1997 as Deputy Permanent Representative to the U.S. Mission during the Balkan crisis and NATO's enlargement, and from 1987 to 1990 on the international staff as Chair of NATO's Political Committee. From 1991 to 1993, he was the Executive Secretary of the Department of State. He served as Deputy Executive Secretary of the National Security Council (1985-1987). He served in Beijing, China as a political officer (1981 to 1983), was staff assistant in the East Asia and Pacific Affairs bureau, and began his Foreign Service career with a two-year assignment in Auckland, New Zealand (1976-1978). Ambassador Pearson served in the U.S. Navy Judge Advocate General's Corps from 1969 to 1973, and is a graduate of the University of Virginia Law School in 1968. He is a member of the International Institute for Strategic Studies in London. |

| Kenneth T. Jackson, Jacques Barzun Professor of History and the Social Sciences, specializes in American social and urban history. He received his B.A. from the University of Memphis in 1961 and his Ph.D. from the University of Chicago in 1966. His publications include The Ku Klux Klan in the City, 1915–1930 (1967), Cities in American History (1972), Crabgrass Frontier: The Suburbanization of the United States (1985), Silent Cities: The Evolution of the American Cemetery , with Camilo Vergara (1990), and, as editor The Encyclopedia of New York City (1995). He is presently working on two books to be entitled Gentlemen's Agreement: Race, Class, and Differential Development in Newark, White Plains, and Darien, 1840–1990 and The Road to Hell: Transportation Policy and the Decline of the United States . |

| Dr. Samuel H. Smith has enjoyed a distinguished career in higher education, first at the University of California, Berkeley, then at Pennsylvania State University. He served 15 years (July 1, 1985 - June 8, 2000) as president of Washington State University. He serves on the Board of Trustees of the Western Governors University, the Washington Higher Education Coordinating Board, and the Talaris Research Institute. His background includes serving as chair of the Executive Committee of the National Collegiate Athletic Association. He became active in the NCAA when he was elected as the Division I representative to the Presidents Commission. He later was elected chair of that commission and then was elected chair of the Executive Committee, the NCAA's newly formed primary governing body, and served in that capacity until completion of his term. |

| E. Gordon Gee - Chancellor, Vanderbilt University |
One of the most experienced chief executives in higher education, Gordon Gee previously served as president of Brown University, The Ohio State University, the University of Colorado, and West Virginia University. A joint degree recipient in law and education from Columbia University, he completed a federal judicial clerkship, after which he served as an Assistant Dean for the University of Utah College of Law. After holding this position, Gee served as a Judicial Fellow and Senior Staff Assistant for United States Supreme Court Chief Justice Warren Burger. He then became Associate Dean and Professor at J. Reuben Clark Law School of Brigham Young University and next served as Dean at West Virginia University. Active in a number of professional and service organizations, Gee has been a Trustee for the Harry S. Truman Scholarship Foundation since 1995. He has carried out research on behalf of the Ford Foundation, the Guy Anderson Foundation, and the American Bar Foundation, among others. He is the co-author of six books, and the author of numerous papers and articles in fields relating to both law and education. The recipient of a number of awards and honors, he was a Mellon Fellow for the Aspen Institute for Humanistic Studies and a W.K. Kellogg Fellow. In 1994 he received the Distinguished Alumnus Award from University of Utah, and in 1994 he received the same award from Teachers College, Columbia University.

| Coach Bowden has been coaching football at Florida State University since 1976 and has led the Seminoles to a National title twice (1993, 1999), second place twice (1987, 92), third, four times (1988, 89, 97, 99), fourth, five times (1990, 91, 94, 95, 96) and fifth in 2000. No team in college football history can match the run. Bobby Bowden was initiated into Pi Kappa Alpha's Alpha Pi Chapter at Samford University in 1949. He served as chapter president in 1954 and has supported Pi Kappa Alpha ever since. |

| Horace Grant (Clemson, Eta Alpha '91) is best known for his work with the Chicago Bulls organization where he won three NBA championships (1990-91, 1991-92, 1992-93). He was also a member of the 2000-01 champion L.A. Lakers team. At the 1991 Pi Kappa Alpha Officers Leadership Academy, Grant addressed an audience and spoke of how the Bull's formula for success can be used within the Fraternity - "We came together as a team. With a fraternity, we are a team. When everyone has the same focus the sky is the limit," Grant said. |

| A 1965 initiate of Delta Lambda Chapter (Florida State), Hubert Green is a well-known professional golfer. He turned professional in 1970 and has since won 19 PGA victories and 4 Champions Tour victories. Green has been active in golf coarse design, working with Fuzzy Zoeller on the TPC at Southwind, venue for the PGA Tour's FedEx St. Jude Classic and assisted in designing Greystone GC in Birmingham with Bob Cupp - site of the Bruno's Memorial Classic. |
